Avington ramble…

Avington is a village by the river Itchen, which won the Best Kept Village prize for Hampshire in 2000.

At one point, we wandered through a field with four horses in it, of which this was one ;).

It was a very pleasant evening, starting and finishing at the Trout pub, with this sky looming above us as we traipsed through a cornfield towards the end of the walk.

That horse looks as though he wanted to eat you for breakfast!
Haha, yes, there were about a dozen of us on the walk, and when we entered the field, the horses were some distance away from us, but they ambled towards us, and by the time we’d reached the gate leading out of the field they were very close by. I was the last one through the gate, and I took this photo from the far side of it. Anyone would think we were carrying bags of hay on our backs, given the keenness they showed in approaching us ;).
