Thanks :). And no, I didn’t altogether escape the rain! I actually watched the pageant on one of those big screens you can see in Victoria Tower Gardens in the first photo. I was within a stone’s throw of the river there, not very far from Lambeth Bridge, but as you might imagine, the crowds were huge in central London for the river pageant, and, unless you got there very early, there was virtually no chance of getting a riverside view. It didn’t actually begin to rain until after three o’clock, and by that time, I’d already left the Gardens and had wandered up to Trafalgar Square, from where I headed along to Waterloo Bridge; it was crossing the river there, that the rain started to teem down, and I did get rather wet ;). Never mind, it was a memorable day nonetheless, with a great atmosphere :).
