I always think a ferry of that colour ought to be selling ice creams. Luckily there’s a place to buy one in Hamble, because you fancy one by the time you get there!
I know what you mean; it’s the kind of vessel that you think would only exist in a children’s picture book, but it has a certain charm, and it apparently operates every day of the year apart from Christmas Day, despite having a capacity of only a dozen passengers! Actually, we were travelling from Hamble to Warsash, and funnily enough there was an ice-cream van along the waterfront, not far from the Rising Sun pub in Warsash…
